Margaret Atwood: Rewarding? I don’t think that’s why people do it.

Matthew Fox: Write?

Atwood: I don’t think that’s why they do any kind of art. I don’t think they do it because they are going to find it rewarding. It can be rewarding in spite of that, but I don’t think that’s what drives them on.

Fox: What does drive them on?

Atwood: They’re obsessive-compulsive.

Fox: I see.
