I will be honest: I haven’t seen Twilight, and reading reviews which talk about all the unintentional hilarity and the fact that it took Bella over an hour, movie-time, to figure out the Cullens were vampires in a vampire movie is not making me inclined to see it (except for possibly the satirical potential).
However, I respect it for one thing: despite all the anti-feminist subject matter, it is the highest debut movie by a single female director, murdering the box office by grossing $70.6 million. Score for Catherine Hardwicke.
