About

Carolyn Yates is a freelance writer with over four years of industry experience. She conducts herself professionally, is willing to learn and can bring a creative and organized approach to any project.

For nearly four years, Carolyn has been involved with The McGill Tribune, a soon-to-be independent newspaper at McGill University in Montreal, most recently as managing editor. During that time, Carolyn was involved with web and print design overhauls and managed the features and arts and entertainment sections.

Carolyn has also worked for CLB Media, which publishes B2B magazines, for nearly two years. Her work, which ranges from features to profiles to in-house ad copy, has appeared in multiple publications, including Canadian Security, SP&T News, Canadian Electronics, Design Product News, Electrical Business, Resource Engineering and Maintenance, Plant Engineering and Maintenance, MP&P and Manufacturing Automation. She swears it is more interesting than it sounds.

Carolyn is currently pursuing a degree in English literature and political science from McGill University. She swears it is less interesting than it sounds.

This site was created in June of 2008, coinciding with a sudden increase in annoyed looks during Carolyn's ravings about books. In late 2008, it moved (by itself, in the dead of night) from Blogger to Wordpress, which Carolyn recommends. It is hosted by Bluehost, which she doesn't.

The body typeface is Georgia, designed by Matthew Carter and tailored for on-screen display. Everything else is Helvetica Neue, designed by Linotype.

All the opinions expressed here are those of Carolyn Yates and not her employers. In cases where she is the employer, all the opinions expressed here belong to a team of highly trained gremlins. Resulting opinions or glittery chaos are entirely incidental.
